English abstract

Introduction: Due to the advancement of new technologies, the role of the librarian specializing in health sciences has evolved. The figure of the librarian should be fundamental in the area of continuing education through new techniques and methodologies that influence a better research and teaching. With the call information literacy, has opened new avenues where the main role is to be a reference librarian in specific training on new resources and services we offer through new technologies. Material and methods: Through training sessions along with new learning techniques (roleplaying), will directly influence the final formation of the users who will be self-sufficient in the management and use of services and library resources. In April 2010, the Library conducted a survey of health personnel at the Hospital, on knowledge management and use of the Virtual Library. The survey had a response rate of 24% among physicians (130) and 10.8% for nurses (197) and nursing assistants (174). Although the response rate was very low, it is still possible to draw conclusions such as: - Of the 24% who answered the survey, 71% known and commonly used virtual library, compared with 29% who do not know. - From 10.8% of nursing and auxiliary staff who answered the survey, 80% of respondents did not know the library, compared with 20% who knows. We must also say that the 20% who knew the virtual library, 66% never used it so we can say that its use is almost nonexistent in this sector. Results: Through courses and whose sessions have been accredited as a quality training by the National Health System, we see the evolution of users. During 2010, 4 issues were scheduled courses on the Virtual Library, 3 issues about the management and use of databases subscribed the virtual library and 1 edition of the RefWorks reference manager. In April 2011 another survey to see if there has been improvement and compare the results with those of this year. According to the data, will be scheduled more courses each sector oriented staff and there will be more practical courses, with new techniques such as roleplaying, to make them much more attractive. Conclusion: The data obtained show that there is a significant lack of training and especially knowledge of the existence of tools and resources we have at the Professional Library through the virtual library. The librarians must strive to offer further training to turn a quality education to its students and above all that this training has any kind of official recognition. This will encourage the student to take courses when and also positively influence the creation of new knowledge through research.

Introducción: Debido al avance de las nuevas tecnologías, el rol del bibliotecario especializado en ciencias de la salud ha ido evolucionando. La figura del bibliotecario debe hacerse fundamental en el área de la formación continuada a través de nuevas técnicas y metodologías que influyan en una mejora de la investigación y en la docencia. Con la llamada alfabetización informacional, se han abierto nuevas vías donde el papel principal del bibliotecario es ser un referente en la formación específica sobre los nuevos recursos y servicios que podemos ofrecer a través de las nuevas tecnologías. Material y metodología: A través de sesiones formativas junto con nuevas técnicas de aprendizaje (roleplaying), influirán directamente en la formación final de los usuarios quienes serán autosuficientes en el manejo y uso de los servicios y recursos de la biblioteca. En el mes de abril de 2010, la Biblioteca realizó una encuesta al personal sanitario del Hospital, sobre el conocimiento, manejo y uso de la Biblioteca Virtual. La encuesta tuvo una tasa de respuesta del 24% entre los facultativos (130) y del 10,8% para el personal de enfermería (197) y auxiliares de enfermería (174). Aunque la tasa de respuesta fue muy baja, aun así es posible sacar conclusiones tales como: - Del 24% de facultativos que contesto la encuesta, el 71% conoce y usa habitualmente la biblioteca virtual, frente al 29% que no la conoce. - Del 10,8% del personal de enfermería y auxiliar que contesto la encuesta, el 80 % de los encuestados no conoce la biblioteca virtual, frente al 20% que si la conoce. También hay que decir que de ese 20% que conoce la biblioteca virtual, el 66% nunca la ha utilizado por lo que podemos decir que su uso es casi inexistente en este sector. Resultados: A través de la realización de cursos y sesiones cuyos contenidos hayan sido acreditados como formación de calidad por el Sistema Nacional de Salud, veremos la evolución de los usuarios. Durante el 2010, se programaron 4 ediciones de cursos sobre la biblioteca Virtual, 3 ediciones sobre el manejo y uso de las bases de datos suscritas por la biblioteca virtual y 1 edición sobre el gestor bibliográfico Refworks. En abril 2011 se realizará otra encuesta para conocer si ha habido mejoría y comparar los resultados obtenidos con los de este año. Según los datos obtenidos, se programarán un mayor número de cursos orientados a cada sector del personal y se realizarán cursos más prácticos, con nuevas técnicas como el roleplaying, para hacerlos mucho mas atrayentes. Conclusión: En los datos obtenidos se muestra que existe una falta importante de formación y sobre todo de conocimiento de la existencia de las herramientas y recursos que tenemos en la Biblioteca Profesional a través de la Biblioteca Virtual. Los profesionales bibliotecarios deben esforzarse en seguir formándose para ofrecer a su vez una formación de calidad a sus alumnos y sobre todo que esta formación tenga algún tipo de validez oficial. Esto fomentará al alumno a la hora de realizar los cursos y además influirá positivamente en la creación de nuevo conocimiento a través de la investigación.
