English abstract

The article follows the discussion in the German library community whether the German cataloguing code should be abandoned in favour of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2) or its prospective replacement (then called AACR3). The events of the years 2002 to 2005 are presented, and the results of various studies discussed.

Der Beitrag beschreibt den Fortgang der "RAK-AACR"-Debatte im deutschen Bibliothekswesen in den Jahren 2002 bis 2005. Wichtige Aspekte der Diskussion und Ergebnisse aus dem Umstiegsprojekt werden präsentiert und kritisch beleuchtet.
