English abstract

The article introduces the national project “Development of the Virtual Electronic Heritage System”, and overviews the development of a common methodological approach to digitization of the cultural heritage reflected in legislative documents on digitization, creation of a system for digital heritage content based on shared standards and providing universal access to cultural heritage objects. Further improvement of the Virtual Electronic Heritage System will involve enrichment of the digital content by adding diverse cultural heritage objects and improving access to this content with the help of a common cultural heritage ontology (CIDOC CRM) and the user-oriented architecture (SOA tools).
