English abstract

The article presents impressions from the 72nd annual conference of IFLA, held in Seoul, Korea, as well as short review of Korea’s history and major sights of the capital Seoul. It also describes various aspects of bibliographic control discussed at the conference and issues concerning cataloguing, bibliographic standards and the national bibliography. It introduces the project of the National Library of Korea “Knowledge-Based Korea”, which aims to consolidate Korea’s all interested parties for creating the knowledge society
