English abstract

In this paper we present a state of the art about collection development in university libraries, considering the literature on the matter. The bibliographic survey were carried out from the last three years in the core periodicals on the subject: Collection Building, Collection Management, and Library Collection, Acquisitions and Technical Services. We discuss over this new reality, proposing and suggesting ways to understand the collection development in the digital environment.

Spanish abstract

En esta ponencia se presenta un estado de la cuestión sobre el desarrollo de las colecciones en bibliotecas universitarias, a partir de la literatura científica. El relevamiento bibliográfico se realizó teniendo en cuenta los últimos tres años de los principales publicaciones periódicas especializadas en el tema: Collection Building, Collection Management y Library Collection, Acquisitions and Technical Services. Se discute esta nueva realidad en bibliotecas, y se efectúan propuestas y sugerencias para comprender el desarrollo de la colección en el entorno digital.

French abstract

Dans ce rapport se présente un état de l'art sur le développement des collections dans les bibliothèques universitaires, à partir de la littérature scientifique. L' enquête bibliographique a été réalisée en tenant compte des dernières trois années des principales publications périodiques spécialisées sur le sujet: Collection Building, Collection Management et Library Collection, Acquisitions and Technical Services. On discute cette nouvelle réalité dans les bibliothèques, et on effectue des propositions et des suggestions pour comprendre le développement de la collection dans l'environnement numérique.

Dutch abstract

Im vorliegenden Vortrag wird die gegenwärtige Situation der Bestands-Aufbau und Entwicklung im Rahmen der wissenschaftliche Literatur vorgestellt. Die bibliographische Übersicht wurde in Bezug auf die drei letzten Jahren der wichtigsten Fachzeitschriften im einschlägigen Begriffsfeld, d.h., Collection Building, Collection Management und Library Collection, Acquisitions and Technical Service,s duchgeführt. Diese neue Realität in Bibliotheken wird diskutiert, und gleichzeitig, Vorschläge gemacht, um der Bestandsentwicklung in der digitaler Zeit besser verstehen zu können.
