English abstract

This booklet explains the basics of online searching, primarily for the (potential) end-users of scientific information. Basically, the following questions are answered: What is "computer-assisted information retrieval"? Which range of information and which search options are available? Whom can you approach for conducting an online search? Does it make sense to establish a connection to automated documentation services yourself (e.g. in your company)? The appendix provides a selection of literature and journals, as well as a list of host systems and database directories.

Diese Broschüre erläutert die Grundbegriffe der Online-Recherche und wendet sich dabei primär an den (potentiellen) Endverbraucher wissenschaftlicher Information, dem unter anderem die folgenden Fragen beantwortet werden: Was ist unter "computerunterstützter Informationssuche" zu verstehen? Welches Informationsangebot und welche Suchmöglichkeiten bestehen überhaupt? Wohin kann man sich zur Durchführung von Suchen wenden? Ist es sinnvoll, im eigenen Bereich (z.B. Unternehmen) einen Anschluss an automatisierte Dokumentationsdienste einzurichten? Im Anhang befindet sich eine Auswahl von Fachliteratur und Fachzeitschriften sowie eine Liste mit Hostsystemen und Datenbankverzeichnissen.
