English abstract

Children in many cases do not yet visit libraries but should become library users in the near future. They are growing up in a highly technical environment in which information needs are increasingly being met directly online through different devices and without visiting libraries (even virtually). This article warns about the need to be aware of this situation in order to build a library model than can remain useful over time.

Los niños, que en muchos casos todavía no visitan las bibliotecas pero deberían ser los usuarios de un futuro cercano, crecen en un entorno altamente tecnificado en el que las necesidades de información, cada vez más, se pueden resolver directamente en internet a través de distintos dispositivos y sin visitar las unidades de información (ni siquiera de forma virtual). Se plantea la necesidad de que los bibliotecarios tomen conciencia de esta situación para poder construir una biblioteca que pueda seguir siendo útil a través del tiempo.
