English abstract

The article describes the experience of automating all documentary information related to planning and urban development regulations on the island of Majorca, from the acquisition of the computer through the digitisation of the documents and their dissemination over the Internet. It is a pioneering experience in administrative archives, having begun in 1996. It is based on applying advanced techniques for conservation and for massive dissemination of documents that, from the moment of their creation, are classified for permanent conservation due to their juridical and administrative value as well as their historical value in the future. The technical work has been carried out on a large and important local government archive with the aim of combining the conservation of a large number of documents with a permanent service for both the local administration and for the general public. To this end, new technologies have been employed.

Experiencia real y pionera de un proceso de informatización, desde la adquisición del ordenador hasta la digitalización y difusión a través de internet de la información documental relativa al planeamiento y a la normativa urbanística vigente en la isla de Mallorca. Se trata de una experiencia precursora en archivos administrativos ya que se inicia en el año 1996. Se aplicaron técnicas de conservación permanente y de difusión masiva a una documentación que desde el momento de su creación es clasificada como de conservación permanente por su valor jurídico–administrativo y por su futuro valor histórico. Trabajo técnico desarrollado en un importante y voluminoso archivo administrativo a fin de combinar de la mejor manera posible la conservación definitiva de un gran número de documentos con la provisión de un servicio permanente a la propia administración pública y a los ciudadanos, utilizando para ello las nuevas tecnologías.
