English abstract

The environment of the scientific edition is revolutionized. These are times of many changes, both in the content and in the formats and in the financing models, which have been caused by several simultaneous causes. All those involved in the edition are looking for action guidelines that help us to redirect our publications to adapt them to current needs. One proof of the interest that exists is, for example, the success of the recent CRECS conference (Madrid, 8-9 May 2014) on the specialized theme of the quality of social science and humanities journals, which was attended by 200 people: http://www.thinkepi.net/crecs2014 There are many factors in society that are evolving and we publishers are subject to great challenges to continue publishing at least with the acceptance and audience we had a few years ago. There are many publications that are in crisis.

El entorno de la edición científica está revolucionado. Son tiempos de muchos cambios, tanto en los contenidos como en los formatos y en los modelos de financiación, los cuales han sido provocados por varias causas simultáneas. Todos los implicados en la edición estamos en la búsqueda de pautas de actuación que nos ayuden a reconducir nuestras publicaciones para adaptarlas a las necesidades actuales. Una prueba del interés que existe es, por ejemplo, el éxito de la reciente conferencia CRECS (Madrid, 8-9 de mayo de 2014) sobre el especializado tema de la calidad de las revistas de ciencias sociales y humanidades, a la que asistieron 200 personas: http://www.thinkepi.net/crecs2014 Hay muchos factores en la sociedad que están evolucionando y los editores nos vemos sometidos a grandes retos para poder continuar publicando al menos con la aceptación y la audiencia que teníamos hace unos pocos años. Son muchas las publicaciones que están en crisis.
