English abstract
The publication of my latest book From the symbolic temple to dematerialization: a journey through the library architecture from the 20th to the 21st century, in which I review the architectural transformations of the buildings of the libraries (and their social, cultural and philosophical) in the last 100 years, is the perfect excuse - surely beloved - for, based on a proposal from the editors of Hänsel * and Gretel *, to reflect even briefly on the location of library architecture in the city of Barcelona. A brevity that at all wants to underestimate the level of exhaustiveness and rigor of the argument that I believe I have kept in the book. And at the same time, this article can also be a good starting point for focusing and focusing on this cultural and crossroads area (libraries and architecture) that is quite important in the city and that, unfortunately, too many times it goes unnoticed.

La publicació del meu últim llibre Del temple simbòlic a la desmaterialització: un recorregut per l’arquitectura bibliotecària del segle XX al XXI, en què faig un repàs global de les transformacions arquitectòniques dels edificis de les biblioteques (i les seves implicacions socials, culturals i filosòfiques) en els darrers 100 anys, és l’excusa perfecta -segurament pretesament volguda- per, a partir d’una proposta dels editors de Hänsel* i Gretel*, reflexionar ni que sigui breument sobre en quina situació es troba l’arquitectura bibliotecària a la ciutat de Barcelona. Una brevetat que en absolut vol menystenir el nivell d’exhaustivitat i de rigor de l’argumentari que crec he mantingut al llibre. I al mateix temps, aquest article pot ser també un bon punt de partida per a focalitzar i centrar aquest àmbit cultural i de cruïlla (biblioteques i arquitectura) prou important a la ciutat i que dissortadament massa vegades passa colpidorament desapercebut.

La publicación de mi último libro Del templo simbólico a la desmaterialización: un recorrido por la arquitectura bibliotecaria del siglo XX al XXI, en la que hago un repaso global de las transformaciones arquitectónicas de los edificios de las bibliotecas (y sus implicaciones sociales, culturales y filosóficas) en los últimos 100 años, es la excusa perfecta -seguramente pretendidamente querida- para, a partir de una propuesta de los editores de Hansel y Gretel, reflexionar aunque sea brevemente sobre en qué situación se encuentra la arquitectura bibliotecaria en la ciudad de Barcelona. Una brevedad que en absoluto quiere menospreciar el nivel de exhaustividad y de rigor del argumentario que creo he mantenido en el libro. Y al mismo tiempo, este artículo puede ser también un buen punto de partida para focalizar y centrar este ámbito cultural y de cruce (bibliotecas y arquitectura) bastante importante en la ciudad y que desgraciadamente demasiadas veces pasa sobrecogedoramente desapercibido.
