English abstract

The Open Ukrainian Citation Index (OUCI) it is a project of the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine for create a new search engine and a citation database, based on the metadata of publishers that use Cited-by Crossref and support the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC). The article contains an explanation of the idea of creating the future tool and refutation some false allegations and fears of potential users of OUCI.

Open Ukrainian Citation Index (OUCI) – проект створення пошукової системи і бази даних наукових цитувань, які надходять від усіх видань, що використовують сервіс Cited-by від Crossref та підтримують Initiative for Open Citations, який розробляється фахівцями Державної науково-технічної бібліотеки України за дорученням Колегії Міністерства освіти і науки України. У цій статті коротко пояснюється ідея створення і функціонування OUCI, а також спростовуються деякі помилкові твердження та побоювання потенційних майбутніх користувачів OUCI.
