English abstract

This work considers the various representations of homosexuality offered par chil and young adult literature. The problems are double : on the one hand trying to determine if these representations can help the young people who feel homosexual to accept their sentimental orientation, on the other hand trying to appreciate if it allows a better recognition of homosexuality among the young adults who feel heterosexuals rather. After having thought of the role of child and young adults literature, particularly in terms of identification, this work considers the various figures of homosexuality in youth literature then analyzes how much the latter is important to help teenagers to know and recognize themselves.

French abstract

Ce travail se penche sur les diférentes représentations de l'homosexualité que peut offrir la littérature de jeunesse. La problématique est double : d'abord tenter de déterminer si ces représentations peuvent aider les jeunes qui se sentent homosexuels à accepter leur orientation sentimentale, ensuite tenter d'apprécier si elle permet une meilleure reconnaissance de l'homosexualité parmi les jeunes adultes qui se sentent plutôt hétérosexuels. Après avoir réfléchi au rôle de la littérature de jeunesse, notamment en terme d'identification et de représentations, ce travail se penche sur les différentes figures de l'homosexualité dans la littérature de jeunesse puis analyse combien cette dernière est importante pour aider l'adolescent à se connaître et se reconnnaître.
