English abstract

A critical analysis was proposed of the different experiences of indigenous libraries in Argentina, forming a state of the art of what happens with library care in communities that have descendants of indigenous populations. The Indigenous Library concept was examined from an interdisciplinary approach, linking the incidence of bilingual indigenous radio stations, oral collections and the valuation of memory in the strengthening of cultural identity. Finally, a series of reflections was proposed in relation to the paradigms present in Indigenous Librarianship, the cases that have represented cultural resistance from the appropriation of written culture, and the libraries that have discontinued their services.

Spanish abstract

Se planteó un análisis crítico sobre las distintas experiencias de bibliotecas indígenas en Argentina, conformando un estado de situación de lo que ocurre con la atención bibliotecaria en comunidades que cuentan con descendientes de poblaciones originarias. Se examinó el concepto Biblioteca Indígena desde un abordaje interdisciplinario, vinculando la incidencia de las radios indígenas bilingües, los fondos orales y la valoración de la memoria en el fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural. Finalmente se propuso una serie de reflexiones en relación a los paradigmas presentes en la Bibliotecología Indígena, los casos que han representado resistencias culturales desde la apropiación de la cultura escrita, y las bibliotecas que han discontinuado sus servicios.
