English abstract
The Conference starting today certainly establishes a point of no return. It is some time now, that more frequent signals allow us to affirm that library profession has grown adult in Italy. The crucial themes which will be discussed in the next three days lead us to share the greatest part of our professional platform and technologies with other protagonists of the information society such as administrators of database and portals or net-managers.

Certamente l’evento che si apre qui oggi segna comunque un punto di non ritorno. Da qualche tempo abbiamo sempre più spesso segnali che consentono di affermare che la professione bibliotecaria in Italia è diventata adulta. I temi cruciali che saranno affrontati in questi tre giorni ci portano a condividere gran parte della nostra piattaforma professionale e delle tecnologie con altri attori della Società dell’informazione quali i gestori di basi dati, di portali di servizio, di imprenditori della rete.
