English abstract

The training of health professionals requires high standards, where the evaluation towards teaching compliance must seek valid instruments that allow a fair, accurate and reliable assessment; the syllabus, an instrument that manages the learning process according to the graduation profile can be defined as the main teaching tool at the service of the student. The objective was to determine the validity of the syllabus follow-up instrument within the teacher evaluation process. The instrument fulfilled the process of validity of content and criteria; The validation of the internal consistency was performed by Kuder-Richardson reliability analysis, the validation of the construct by correlation analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The syllabus follow-up instrument constructed by the Academic Vice-Rector for the evaluation of all the Careers, shows an adequate validity for its application within the Obstetrics Career of the Central University of Ecuador.

Spanish abstract

La formación de profesionales de la salud requiere de altos estándares, donde la evaluación hacia el cumplimiento docente debe procurar instrumentos válidos, que permitan una valoración justa, precisa y fiable; el sílabo, instrumento que gestiona el proceso de aprendizaje conforme el perfil de egreso puede ser definido como la principal herramienta docente al servicio del estudiante. El objetivo fue determinar la validez del instrumento de seguimiento a silabo dentro del proceso de evaluación docente. El instrumento cumplió el proceso de validez de contenido y de criterio; la validación de la consistencia interna se realizó por análisis de fiabilidad de Kuder-Richardson, la validación del constructo mediante análisis de correlaciones y análisis factorial confirmatorio. El instrumento de seguimiento a silabo construido por el Vicerrectorado Académico para evaluación de la totalidad de las Carreras, muestra una validez adecuada para su aplicación dentro de la Carrera de Obstetricia de la Universidad Central del Ecuador.
