English abstract
The author makes an excursion into the history of the appearance of the audio book, highlights the pros and cons of reading/listening of audio books, the role of audio book in restoration of the young people’s taste for reading, as well as the advantages of using au-dio publications in the teaching process. The author does the analysis of the audio book market in different countries, including the Republic of Moldova.

Autorul face o incursiune în istoria apariției cărții au-dio, evidențiază avantajele și dezavantajele lecturii cărților audio, rolul cărții audio în redarea celor tineri a gustului pentru lectură, precum și avantajele folosirii publicațiilor audio în procesul didactic. De asemenea, face o radiografiere a pieței cărții audio în diferite țări, inclusiv în Republica Moldova.
