English abstract

This paper offers a critical, multidisciplinary reflection on the state of contemporary social ethics in the face of rapid and profound technological, scientific, and civil transformations. The article examines the urgent need to foster a conscious public debate that transcends mere regulatory compliance, focusing instead on collective responsibility, the protection of human dignity, and social equity. The author analyzes the key ethical challenges confronting today's society — ranging from the implications of algorithmic developments to distributive justice in access to knowledge — highlighting that a vast and essential cultural journey remains to be undertaken to translate philosophical principles into concrete political and civic actions capable of steering progress toward the common good.

Il presente contributo propone una riflessione critica e multidisciplinare sullo stato dell'etica sociale contemporanea di fronte alle rapide e profonde trasformazioni tecnologiche, scientifiche e civili del nostro tempo. L'articolo esamina la necessità urgente di strutturare un dibattito pubblico e consapevole che vada oltre la mera conformità normativa, focalizzandosi sulla responsabilità collettiva, sulla tutela della dignità umana e sull'equità sociale. L'autrice analizza i principali nodi etici che interpellano la società odierna — dalle implicazioni degli sviluppi algoritmici alla giustizia distributiva nell'accesso alla conoscenza — evidenziando come vi sia ancora un vasto e indispensabile percorso culturale da compiere per tradurre i principi filosofici in azioni politiche e civili concrete, capaci di orientare il progresso verso il bene comune.
