The mediumistic image of librarian (title of the presentation). The image of the librarian in the cinema and literature is varied but, in general, it is stereotypical. Librarians are perceived as old foges, boring, harsh and coclourless people. In order to change it, they should initiate a coherent campaign of their positive image promotion. They must prove that librarians are necessary in the creation of the information society

Obraz bibliotekarza w kinie i literaturze jest zróżnicowany jednak zazwyczaj niestety odpowiada powszechnemu stereotypowi. Bibliotekarze postrzegani są jako postaci staroświeckie, nudne, zgryźliwe i bezbarwne. Aby to zmienić należy przeprowadzić konsekwentną kampanię promowania pozytywnego wizerunku. Należy udowodnić, że budowanie społeczeństwa informacyjnego bez bibliotek i bibliotekarzy nie będzie możliwe.
