English abstract
Interpreting the basic principles of total quality management (TQM) the paper points out the complexity of its implementation in the libraries, and in the sense of quality and methodology fixes the boundaries between the daily work and service improvement, on one side, and the introduction of the system of quality and the total quality management, on the other side.
Serbian abstract
Interpretirajući osnovne principe upravljanja ukupnim kvalitetom (TQM), u radu se predočava složenost njegove primene u bibliotekama, a u kvalitativnom i metodološkom smislu razgraničava dnevno poboljšavanje kvaliteta rada i usluga, sa jedne strane, od uvođenja sistema kvaliteta i TQM, sa druge.
