English abstract
The evolution of the community development model from a general technique for engaging communities to a library-focused, library-specific model for building inclusive and expanded libraries. Discusses the approach used by four libraries to reach out to the socially excluded. Programs are developed collaboratively with the community, and assessment focuses on a qualitative, story-based approach.
