English abstract

This bibliography on “Education and Training in the Bahamas” has been specifically prepared for the UWI School of Continuing Studies’ Bahamas Conference. Because it was recognized that the Bahamas is served by an academic library—the College of the Bahamas Library—this bibliography was not intended to be as comprehensive as those for the other non-campus countries. In particular, the following types of information were omitted: in-house operational research publications of the Ministry of Education, teachers’ certificate theses, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) theses, curriculum and syllabus documents, and textbooks. The focus was therefore mainly on policy documents, post-graduate theses and dissertations, and research reports. This publication contributes to the development of content for a computerized database being developed by the Caribbean Educational Research Information Service (CERIS) at the School of Education, UWI, St. Augustine. A few websites available on the Internet have been included in the bibliography.
