Abstract

RDF schemas specify various metadata ontologies where FRBR is used as an "umbrella" for other types of metadata. Different types of metadata are represented by means of RDF statements. This approach makes it possible to handle different types of materials and metadata within a common framework. Searches are performed against attributes and relations represented by the RDF statements. The RDF schema with abstract relationships between metadata relation types etc. is utilized to guide automatic inference as part of more advanced search processing.

Gli schemi RDF specificano diverse ontologie di metadata, dove FRBR viene usato come "ombrello" per gli altri tipi di metadata. I diversi tipi di metadata sono rappresentati in base alle indicazioni RDF. Questo approccio rende possibile la gestione di diversi tipi di materiali e di metadata in una quadro comune. Le ricerche sono eseguite in senso contrario rispetto agli attributi e alle relazioni create in base alle indicazioni RDF. Lo schema RDF con relazioni astratte tra tipi di relazioni di metadata, etc., viene utilizzato per ottenere deduzioni automatiche come parte di un processo di ricerca più avanzato.
