The objective of this paper is to present how the appraisal process is being used by the Arxiu Central del Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya (The central archives of the Culture Department of the Gouvernment of Catalonia) as a way to integrate the archival function in the planning, creation and use of electronic records.
