Abstract
[Italian abstract] Tutti parlano di biblioteca digitale, ma una definizione esatta ancora non c'è. Malgrado se ne discuta già da tempo gli studiosi non hanno ancora raggiunto un accordo sul termine. William Y. Arms, docente di informatica alla Cornell University e fondatore della rivista elettronica "D-Lib Magazine" ha tentato recentemente nel saggio intitolato 'Digital Libraries' di tracciare il punto della situazione.
[English abstract] Everyone speaks of digital library, but there is not an exact definition of it, yet. Despite years of discussions on this theme, scholars did not find an agreement on the term. William Y. Arms, teacher of information science at the Cornell University and founder of "D-Lib Magazine", tried recentrly to define the state of art in his essay "Digital Libraries".
