Abstract

La Biblioteca Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (BNCT) se fundó en 1988 con el objetivo de atesorar la información científica y tècnica de Cuba y del mundo. Está ubicada en la sección izquierda del Capitolio Nacional, abarca una extensión aproximada de 4000 m lineales y posee más de 500 000 documentos que custodia el departamento Servicios Bibliotecarios. La importancia de sus fondos ha hecho meditar acerca del imperativo de su preservación y mantenimiento, pues constituye fuente inagotable del saber humano.

The National Library of Science and Technology (BNCT) was founded on 1988 with the objective to hoard the scientific and technic information of Cuba and the world. It is located in the left section of the National Capitol, includes an approximated extension of 4000 linear ms and has more than 500 000 documents. The importance has made meditate about the imperative of its preservation and maintenance, because it constitutes inexhaustible source of the human knowledge.
