Abstract

The workshop took place from 22nd to 24th March 2001 and it was organized by a Committee constituted by Raf Dekeyser (LIBER, Access Division; Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), Herbert Van de Sompel (OAI Executive; Cornell University) e Corrado Pettenati (CERN, Library). Among the 60 participants, there were scientists and librarians from all over the world who participated in the working groups and in the discussions. The aim of the meeting was to focus on the certification of the works which has been submitted to the server. The data providers contain data and metadata. Our next step is to assure the quality of the documents contained in the server, through process of validation and quality evaluation.

Organizzato al CERN di Ginevra da un comitato composto da Raf Dekeyser (LIBER, Access Division; Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), Herbert Van de Sompel (OAI Executive; Cornell University) e Corrado Pettenati (CERN, Library), il workshop dello scorso 22-24 marzo 2001 ha visto 60 partecipanti, tra scienziati e bibliotecari, provenienti da tutto il mondo, i quali hanno partecipato ai vari gruppi di lavoro e di discussione che hanno animato l'evento. L'obiettivo esplorativo del meeting si è focalizzato sulla certificazione dei lavori sottomessi ai server. I data provider contengono dati e metadati, lo step successivo è quello di assicurare la qualità dei lavori contenuti nei server, attraverso processi di validazione del materiale.
