Les biblioteques universitaries es troben davant el repte d'adaptar-se a les noves necessitats i habits dels seus usuaris y davant del repte de millorar l'eficàcia de les seves funcions. La tecnología no anul·la el paper de la biblioteca dins de la universitat, però l'obliga a evolucionar i millorar el compliment de la seva funció.

The university libraries are in front of the challenge to adapt to the new necessities and habits of their users and in front of the challenge to improve the effectiveness of their functions. Technology does not annul the role of the library within the university, but it forces it to evolutionate and to improve the fulfillment of his function.
