Abstract

[Croatian abstract]

[English abstract]

The concept of the Croatian Scientific Bibliography (CROSBI) is described in detail with all counterparts in its creation process: the Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet), scientists and their institutional libraries. Specific characteristics of small countries and their scientific output recording are highlighted. Advantages and disadvantages of such an approach are discussed. The role of libraries in such a project could be very significant. Some of Croatian libraries are ready to take part in the bibliographic database improvement as to provide better communication among scientists.
