Abstract

JISC is nationally funded for all of the UK. The NHS is funded at country level within the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The author presents collaboration between JISC and the National Health Service. The NHS and Education Institutions both pay for the same materials to be accessed by the same user, so for example while working in the hospital a consultant will have access to a set of online resources. Later the same day the same consultant when teaching, will have access to a different set of electronic resources, under different terms and conditions. Solution: to provide a consistent set of online resources for access by the National Health and Education Communities and collaboration for joint procurement.
