Abstract

[Spanish abstract]Durante muchos siglos, millones de individuos miraron en las estrellas, arraigadas en esta tierra que, hoy, consideramos nuestras. Generación tras generación, tejieron una urdimbre cultural única, incomparable, compuesta por un número infinito de pequeñas y grandes características, distintivas e inimitables. Estos pueblos “indígenas" están hoy altamente amenazados. Su cultura está desapareciendo. Para preservar su patrimonio cultural, las bibliotecas podían emplear sus servicios y estructuras. El artículo delínea varias ideas empleadas por el autor en la generación de un modelo de la biblioteca indígena en las comunidades del nordeste de la Argentina en el período 2003-2004
[English abstract]For centuries, millions of individuals gazed at the stars, rooted in this land that, today, we consider ours. Generation after generation, they weaved a unique, incomparable cultural tapestry, composed by an infinite number of small and big own, characteristic, distinctive and inimitable features. These peoples -so called "indigenous"- are today highly menaced. Their culture is vanishing as far as their territories. In order to preserve their cultural heritage, libraries could employ their services and structures. The article outlines several ideas employed by the author in the generation of a model of indigenous library in communities placed in northeastern Argentina during 2003-2004.
