生态学已经在各行各业得到了广泛地应用，图书信息界也出现了不少有关图书馆生态学的论文，但是目前尚缺少对图书馆生态学的总体研究。本文试图从成立图书馆生态学的必要性、理论基础、研究对象等方面作一探讨，以期促进图书馆生态学的研究和发展.

"Discussion about Library Ecolog". Ecology is abroad in the world. The emergence of library ecology has its necessary and theoretic foundation. In this paper, the author describes the follows aspects of library ecology: necessary of constructing library ecology, theoretic foundation, and research objects.
