Abstract

As the proportion of library activities goes worldwide more digital, less work is needed for physical collection management and circulation, more work is related to digital resource management and navigation. Providing access to electronic resources has a big impact on library operations. A number of organizational changes have been implemented according to new library operations and services. Changes in workloads and work processes led to restructuring. On the other side the economic profile of the library is changing in direction of fewer acquisitions, more licensing, greater infrastructure costs, better equipped and multi skilled, flexible staff. Staff training and team working became more important than before. New responsibilities are delegated and team work was encouraged. In this talk, we present the impact of all these developments on the management of the Middle East Technical University Library and new ways of evaluating and assessing these changes.
