Abstract

Zu ihrer zielgerichteten Positionierung, in der zunehmend informatisierten Wissensgesellschaft, bedürfen Bibliotheken aller Typen der strategischen Planung. Im Folgenden wird ein Konzept aufgezeigt, das eine systematische Bestandsaufnahme und Bewertung der einzelnen Bibliotheken ermöglicht. Dies bildet die Grundlage für eine Positionierung in der Wissensgesellschaft sowie eine permanente Optimierung und nachhaltige Steigerung ihrer Excellence – sowohl im nationalen, als auch im internationalen Vergleich.

Strategic planning must be provided in libraries of all kinds for their designated positioning in todays knowledge society. The following concept points out, how a systematic review and assessment is enabled. On this fundament, positioning in the knowledge society, an ongoing optimization and sustainable enhancement of the library will be possible – both nationally and internationally seen.
