Abstract

El presente artículo propone una revisión de definiciones, normas y recomendaciones internacionales relativas, por una parte, al patrimonio, la IDENTIDAD y la diversidad cultural y su protección, y, por la otra, a la biblioteca pública. Mediante el análisis comparativo de tales textos se pretende recuperar y destacar el importante papel reservado a las unidades de información en la recuperación, conservación, protección y difusión de la cultura y la memoria humana.

The present article proposes a review of definitions, norms and international recommendations on heritage, identity, cultural diversity and public libraries. The comparative analysis of such texts is aimed at recovering and emphasizing the important role of libraries in the recovery, conservation, protection and spread of human history and memory.
