Abstract

Presents the state of library and information system of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) in 1998. Provides details of the high tech central library, its building LAN, Digital Library etc developed during the modernization programme of 1995-98. The cooperation with national and international organizations for resource sharing, involvement in programmes like DISC of Department of Biotechnology, ARIS of ICAR, INFLIBNET of UGC, ERNET of Government of India etc are outlined. The resources and services made accessible to the scientists, teachers, research scholars, students and farmers through these associations and participations are explained.
