El uso de software libre en terminales de acceso público en bibliotecas es una eficiente alternativa tanto a nivel de rendimiento como económico y de seguridad. Sin embargo, a pesar de toda la información publicada al respecto y de proyectos exitosos llevados a cabo en nuestro ámbito territorial, aún dista de ser una opción extendida o incluso conocida por los profesionales de la biblioteconomia y la documentación.

The use of free software in terminals of public access in libraries is an efficient alternative as much at level of yield as economic and security. Nevertheless, in spite of all the published information on the matter and of successful projects carried out in our territorial scope, still dista of being an option extended or even well-known by the professionals of biblioteconomia and the documentation.
