El artículo presenta las aplicaciones prácticas de la tecnología de identificación por radiofrecuencia y sus aplicaciones actuales en el ámbito de las Bibliotecas, Archivos y Centros de Documentación. Se analiza en particular los equipos necesarios para la implementación en una unidad de información, indicando costos y aspectos relevantes a considerar para su óptima implantación.

The article presents the practical applications of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centers. The necessary equipment for the implementation is analyzed indicating costs and highlights for their optimal implementation.
