La matriz teórica que constituye la relación biblioteca y sociedad es motivo de estudio y puede tener varios modelos explicativos. A partir de esta premisa se propone la formalización del dialogo bibliotecología – sociología para orientar al científico social interesado en el mundo de las bibliotecas. Al final expondremos algunos campos de investigación en donde consideramos a la biblioteca como objeto de estudio de la ciencia de la sociedad. Todas estas reflexiones son producto de la experiencia profesional arrojada por el trabajo realizado como bibliotecario.

This paper (The dialogue between librarianship - sociology for the study of the relationship between libraries and society) talks about the theoretical matrix that conforms the relationship between library and society as an object of study and it can have several explanatory models. Thus beginning with that premise in mind it is proposed the formalization of the dialogue librarianship-sociology to guide the social scientist interested in the world of libraries. At the end some fields of research are proposed were libraries can be consideres as object of study of the science in society. All of these reflections are product of the professional experience brought by the labour being carried out daily as a librarian. [Tr. Z.M.M.M. 2006.12.29].
