Η παρούσα δημοσίευση αφορά τις απαιτήσεις ενός εκλογικευμένου συστήματος σήμανσης, το οποίο θα πρέπει να είναι ενοποιημένο, πληροφοριακά περιεκτικό και αισθητικά ευχάριστο. Οι ακαδημαϊκές βιβλιοθήκες είναι χώροι που φιλοξενούν μεγάλο αριθμό προσώπων, με συγκεκριμένου τύπου εργασίες και συνθήκες εκτέλεσής τους (π.χ. διαθέσιμος χρόνος). Για τον λόγο αυτό η εσωτερική σήμανση των χώρων τους είναι κριτικής σημασίας, όχι μόνο γιατί συμβάλλει στην δημιουργία μιας αξιόπιστης εικόνας του οργανισμού της βιβλιοθήκης, αλλά κυρίως γιατί υποστηρίζει την αποτελεσματική κίνηση των χρηστών της. Στην δημοσίευση γίνεται λόγος για τις προκλήσεις του περιβάλλοντος χώρου, τις κατηγορίες συστημάτων σήμανσης και τις ενέργειες των στοιχείων σήμανσης. Τέλος γίνεται παρουσίαση της προσπάθειας του προσωπικού της Βιβλιοθήκης & Υπηρεσίας Πληροφόρησης του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών και των εξωτερικών συνεργατών της για την δημιουργία ενός αποτελεσματικού συστήματος εσωτερικής σήμανσης.


[English abstract]

The present publication concerns the requirements for the application of a rational signage system, which must be consistent, informatory concise and aesthetically pleasant. Academic libraries are places that host a great number of users, with particular tasks and conditions of realization (e.g. available time). For this reason the interior signage of these spaces is of critical importance, not only because they contribute in the formation of a reliable image of the library organization, but because they must support the effective movement of the users. In this publication we report the contextual challenges, the categories of signage systems and the actions carried by signage elements. Finally the work of Library & Information Service, University of Patras, Greece personnel and the freelance partners for the development of an effective interior signage system is being exhibited.
