Abstract

[German abstract]
In diesem Aufsatz werden unter anderem Computernetzwerke bzw. das Internet einer kritischen Betrachtung unterzogen. Es zeigt sich, dass die Existenz des Internets nicht automatisch die Auflösung räumlicher Ungleichheiten sowie einen freien Fluss der Informationen hervorruft. Weiters zeigt sich, dass Wissenserwerb wohl auch in Zukunft nicht mühelos zu haben sein wird.

This paper provides a critical consideration of computer networks and the Internet. It argues that the Internet does not compensate spatial disparities per se. Moreover, it is not guaranteed that the Internet will enable a free flow of information. Additionally, the aquisition of knowledge will still remain a complex and elaborate task.
