Abstract

El surgimiento, desarrollo y expansión de Internet ha supuesto una revolución sin precedentes en la capacidad del ser humano para acceder y para difundir información. Pero si bien es cierto que nunca como ahora la información ha estado tan al alcance de la mano, también lo es que la naturaleza de la red no siempre facilita la localización de la información deseada. A grandes rasgos, el volumen de la información disponible, su diversidad y su inestabilidad son, a la vez, las características que prestan la grandeza a este medio y las que suponen los más grandes desafíos para su uso profesional.

The sprouting, development and expansion of Internet have supposed a revolution without precedents in the capacity of the human being to accede and to spread information. But it is certain well that never like now the information it has been so within reach, also is it that the nature of the network not always facilitates the location of the wished information. In general, the volume of the information available, its diversity and its instability are, simultaneously, the characteristics that lend the greatness to this means and those that suppose the greatest challenges for their professional use.
