Κατά το διάστημα: Ιανουάριος 1999 - Σεπτέμβριος 2000, εφαρμόστηκε πιλοτικά από έξι Πανεπιστημιακές Βιβλιοθήκες η μέθοδος Conspectus για την αξιολόγηση των συλλογών περιοδικών της Χημείας, Φυσικής και Πληροφορικής. Στόχος του έργου ήταν αφενός η αξιολόγηση των συλλογών με μια καθιερωμένη και αποδεκτή μέθοδο, αλλά κυρίως η εξαγωγή συμπερασμάτων που θα βοηθούσε τις βιβλιοθήκες στη συνεργασία για την μελλοντική ανάπτυξη των συλλογών περιοδικών τους σε ορθολογική βάση λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις ιδιαίτερες ανάγκες των επιμέρους βιβλιοθηκών και των ιδρυμάτων τους. Στην εισήγηση αυτή παρουσιάζονται τόσο τα βήματα που ακολουθήθηκαν για την εφαρμογή της μεθόδου Conspectus, όσο και τα πορίσματα που προέκυψαν με την ολοκλήρωση του έργου.

[English Abstract]

From January 1999 till September 2000 a pilot project on the application of the Conspectus method was implemented by 6 University Libraries for the evaluation of their periodicals collections in the fields of Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science. The project aimed on the one hand, at evaluating these collections using a standard and widely approved method and on the other hand, at resulting in outcomes that would help libraries in future cooperation for the development of their periodicals collections by using rational criteria and taking into account their local needs at the same time. This paper presents not only the steps followed in the application of the Conspectus method for the evaluation of the libraries' periodicals collections, but also the outcomes concerning potential cooperation among the libraries in managing and building their collections.
