[English abstract] Review of: Paul S. Ulrich (ed), Die Bibliothek als öffentlicher Ort und öffentlicher Raum | The library as a public place and public space, Bibspider: Berlin 2006. The collection of papers about libraries as physical and virtual places and spaces takes up a current topic as "public places" without pressure to consume become noticably restricted.
[German abstract] Review of: Paul S. Ulrich (ed), Die Bibliothek als öffentlicher Ort und öffentlicher Raum | The library as a public place and public space, Bibspider: Berlin 2006. Der Sammelband "Die Bibliothek als öffentlicher Ort und öffentlicher Raum" erscheint zu einem Zeitpunkt, in dem der Aufenthalt im öffentlichen Raum ohne Konsumzwang immer weiter eingeschränkt wird und wo sich immer wieder die Frage stellt, wie öffentlich der sogenannte "öffentliche Raum" wirklich ist.
