Abstract

Covers the different areas in which Information Technology can be used for people's participation in development. More than thirty experts working on different spheres related to ICT development and information services have contributed content on concerned areas for the volume. The reviewer considers that these expert views are of importance to Municipal Corporations, Panchayats, and State and Central Governments which is presently engaged in implementing e-governance. The review opines that the expertise of the coordinator of the project Prof. R. Raman Nair and the views of the contributors based on their practical experience makes the book a valuable source that can guide the administrators to develop strategies for free and open access to knowledge and information held by government and also ensure transparency and participation at different levels.
