La relazione illustra l'attività delle associazioni europee I&D nel campo della certificazione delle competenze, sia nell'ambito della federazione ECIA, che a livello nazionale.
Vengono riferiti la storia ed i risultati del progetto DECIDoc e gli obiettivi e le fasi operative del progetto CERTIDoc promossi dall'ECIA e le iniziative delle associazioni I&D in Francia, Spagna, Germania e Italia.
Viene poi illustrata l'attività delle associazioni italiane dei bibliotecari e degli archivisti in tema di promozione e riconoscimento della professione. È offerta, infine, una panoramica della situazione legislativa, europea ed italiana, in materia di certificazione professionale e riconoscimento delle professioni e l'evoluzione in
atto. In modo particolare, si riferisce delle iniziative legislative in discussione alla Camera ed al Senato ed i recenti disegni di legge di iniziativa del CNEL (gennaio 2003) e del Ministero della Giustizia (marzo 2003).

The statement points out the activity of I&D European associations in the field of competences' certification, in ECIA federation's area as well as in the national one.
In the statement there are references on history and outcomes of DECIDoc project; objectives and operative stages of CERTIDoc project, promoted by ECIA; and
enterprises of I&D associations in France, Spain, Germany and Italy. Secondly, it is illustrated the activity of Italian librarians and archivists associations as for
professional promotion and recognition. Finally, it is offered an overview of the legislative situation, both Italian and European, referring to the professional certification and recognition, as well as the evolution in progress. A particular attention is given to the legislative initiatives that are being discussed in Italian Chamber and Senate, besides the recent bills promoted by CNEL (January 2003) and Ministry of Justice (March 2003).
