Il bibliotecario o documentalista specialista può svolgere un ruolo importante nel settore dell'e-learning come esperto dell'organizzazione delle informazioni, con funzione di
mediatore tra l'esperto disciplinare e i tecnici informatici, e come utilizzatore di strumenti didattici per programmi di information literacy.

The special librarian can assume an important role in the e-learning world as an expert of information organization, being a middleman between the sector specialists and the computer science specialists, and as a final user of e-learning material for information literacy courses.
