Presentación introductoria del curso, en la que se hace una revisión general de diversos aspectos que se juzgan fundamentales en el desarrollo de la documentación científica: “explosión de la información”, clasificaciones y tesauros, bases de datos, medición del rendimiento de los científicos (Thomson ISI, Scopus, In-Recs), predominio del idioma inglés, open access, IraLIS ( http://www.iralis.org ), etc.

Introductory presentation of the course, in which a general review of diverse aspects that are judged fundamental in the development of the scientific documentation is done: "explosion of the information", classifications and thesauri, databases, performance measurement of the scientists (Thomson ISI, Scopus, In-Recs), predominance of the English language, open access, IraLIS ( http://www.iralis.org ), etc.
