ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತೃತವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಲೇಖನ, ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ವಿಕಾಸದ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ, ಲಭ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲೋಕಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದ್ದು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಕಾಶೋದ್ಯಮ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಚರ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
