Abstract

The basic characteristics of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)and e-learning are presented. The issue of information overload and the production and dissemination of digital information is discussed. The importance and the necessity of access in evaluated information are reported. It is concluded that for underpin of VLEs, the organization of information literacy programmes with the collaboration of faculty members and library personnel, is essential.
