Abstract

[English abstract:] The Internet and the World Wide Web allow new forms of creation and transference of information which provide a powerful means for people and organizations to share and cooperate. But they also create the myth of ‘plain access’ to information. This is not true, at the present, and it remains to be seen if it will be true in the future.
[Portuguese abstract:] A Internet e a World Wide Web permitem novas formas de criação e transferência de informação fornecendo meios poderosos que permitem que pessoas e organizações colaborem e partilhem a informação. Criam, igualmente, o mito da plena acessibilidade à informação. Esta é uma falsa verdade no presente e constitui uma incógnita se virá a sê lo no futuro.
